Snapchat, a company best known for its video messaging app, is to sell sunglasses fitted with a built-in camera. This is obviously a surprise move but evidently, is meant to help frequent users quickly and seamlessly upload 10-second videos without hassle. The Spectacles connect directly to Snapchat via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and transfer Memories – 10 second clips of video – directly into the app. The glasses begin to film when the user taps a button on the top left-hand corner of the frame.
This is what Snapchat said:
We’ve created one of the smallest wireless video cameras in the world, capable of taking a day’s worth of Snaps on a single charge, and we integrated it seamlessly into a fun pair of sunglasses
The inbuilt camera will be powered by a battery capable of lasting a whole day. The footage itself will be recorded in a format will be viewable in any orientation.
You can get (if you can 😂 😂 😂) the sunglasses for about Ksh. 13,000.
